What to Expect Your First Visit
Getting to know you
Your first visit is all about getting to know you. Dr. April will get to know you and your personal health history. A functional physical exam will be performed with the goal of identifying disturbances and areas of stress in the body.
If you have recent lab work, Dr. April will review this briefly during your 1st visit, and more in-depth between your 1st and 2nd visits. If you don't have recent lab work, a blood draw will be performed in office, or you may be referred to BCH or Labcorp for a draw. Additional specialty lab work may be recommended depending on your unique case.
Heart Wellness Screening
The HSR (Heart Sound Recorder) is a wellness screen that uses a specialized microphone to monitor the rate, rhythm, and tone of your heart. This screen is included in your 1st visit.
The HSR involves placing a chest strap in 4 different places around your chest, over each of the valve areas of the heart, to monitor the sound and movement of your heart. The data is then used to create your individual HSR graph.
Please note this is not a substitute for an ECG or evaluation by a cardiologist, but rather, looking at your heart as a window as to how your entire body is functioning.
Follow Up Care
You will want to be sure to schedule your next appointment for one week after your first visit. At this second visit Dr. April will review with you in depth her findings & recommendations for your personalized care. This allows Dr. April time to thoughtfully review your case and provide focused recommendations.
Your second visit is included in the cost of your first visit, provided it is scheduled within 2 weeks of the first visit.
A re-examination is typically done in 4-6 weeks to check your progress and fine-tune your treatment plan.
It is quite likely that therapeutics such as constitutional hydrotherapy will be recommended in order to see the best results. This does increase your overall time and financial commitment; however, the intention is for you to see the best results in improved wellness.
Now, you are an established patient! You may communicate with Dr. April via the Elation Passport (Electronic Medical Records system). You will receive a welcome email with instructions to set up your account.
